Empower Learners Through Resources
Per Amore Foundation Boosts Learning in Kogi State with Donation of School Supplies to Students in Ankpa
In a significant effort towards enhancing educational access in Kogi State, Per Amore Foundation, a non-profit organisation has donated school bags, exercise books, and essential writing materials to students in two schools in Ankpa Local Government Area.
The project tagged: “Empowering Learners Through Resources (ELR)” targeted student-beneficiaries in the Roman Catholic Mission (RCM) Nursery and Primary School, as well as the LGEA Owele Islamic Primary School both in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Speaking on behalf of its founders, Michael Illah– Per Amore’s Programs Manager said the donations were a key initiative of the Foundation’s educational support pet project, which aims to alleviate resource constraints for students and promote a conducive learning environment.
“We understand that many families in these areas struggle to afford basic school supplies. Our aim with this project is to bridge that gap and ensure that every child has the tools necessary to learn and thrive.
“While education is just one of our priority areas, we also focus on prisoner rehabilitation programs, improving healthcare delivery, among other efforts that remain the bedrocks of societal growth,” he said.
Teachers and school administrators expressed deep appreciation for the Foundation’s support, noting the positive impact these materials would have on students’ academic experiences.
“Many of our students come from underprivileged backgrounds and often lack the essentials for learning. With these donations, we expect not only an improvement in their academic performance but also a boost in their confidence and enthusiasm for school,” said Mrs. Comfort Idoko.
The students also shared their excitement and gratitude. “I am really happy to receive a new school bag and books,” Hauwa Usman stated. “I used to carry my books in my hands because my bag was torn. Now, I have a new one, and I feel proud coming to school.”
